Product Description 3 oz. bottle of Noodlers ink in Polar Black. The product is new, current product directly from the manufacturer. The bottle is glass with a distinctive Noodlers Polar Bear label, and an outside Noodlers box. Polar Black Bulletproof Ink - same as Eel Polar Black. All of the great qualities of Noodler's Standard Permanent Black plus freeze-resistant even in Scandinavia! The manufacturer also states that Polar Black has [eel] lubricating properties for all pistons and converters -- tested to flow smoothly in all types of feeders! Writes very smoothly in a rich dark black color. This ink is all U.S. made and has Archival, Anti-Forgery and Anti- Feathering features. The ink is described as bulletproof by the manufacturer and is waterproof. The ink is specifically designed for fountain pen use. Noodlers is very proud of the qualities their inks provide. Some of these qualities relate to how Noodlers inks interact with the mechanics of your pen. These inks are designed for use with any fountain pen new or vintage. Any brand of ink can attack pen parts because all inks generally are corrosive agents. Noodlers technology has lessened this factor to protect the value of your writing instruments. For example aluminum has been used in many pen brands over the years and still today. Aluminum is relatively unstable with exposure to many ink brands... Noodlers is friendly to aluminum [and other pen materials]. Test your ink and Noodler's with a piece of aluminum foil leave the ink in contact with the foil overnight and see what the results are. You better replace your ink with Noodlers if your ink eats the aluminum foil (vintage & some European inks currently made are conspicuous culprits).

Great Ink September 23, 2008 S. Duffy (Central California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I use Noodler's Polar Black Bulletproof Eel in two different pens with the creeping effect in both pens and this is the only drawback to an otherwise perfect ink. The black line is bold and I can use it on anything including checks. I use it regularly on various kinds of paper and do not have trouble with bleed-through and it dries quickly enough that smudging is not a problem.
Not for a Lamy Safari February 28, 2008 D. M. Forney (Pa USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
When used in a Lamy Safari Fine and Extra Fine point pen, there was very inconsistent ink flow. Ink simply did not feed well at all. If you're using these pens, get Noodler's non-Polar Bulletproof black instead. It'll save you the hassle.
Good ink, expensive December 7, 2007 Controls Joe 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is good ink water proof and a nice dark colour. It is a little expensive compared to other inks though
Excellent product! October 17, 2007 love my ink 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product does everything that it says it does. I will definitely order it again when I need a refill
Black, waterproof, forgery proof, and liquid at very low temperatures February 3, 2007 S. Blackwelder 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
This ink is as good as Noodler's "standard" Black, with one trade-off: instead of being perfect on bad paper, this one stays liquid far below the freezing point of water. This one is also designed to safely condition and lubricate the gaskets of permanent-piston pens. This one is not good for two-sided writing on bad paper, but just remember that almost all fountain pen inks of any color are not good for two-sided writing on bad paper either. This one, like Noodler's "standard" Black, is safe for writing checks and signing valuable or important documents. One behavior you might notice, if your pen's nib is an exposed metal surface (not covered with colored enamel), is that Polar Black spreads itself over exposed metal surfaces. This "nib creep" is harmless behavior because the ink doesn't run down onto the grip area. Wiping the ink off the nib is only temporary; more ink will soon spread to replace what you wiped off. Again, this is harmless behavior and a very small price to pay for the security of your marks, signatures and important handwritten texts.
