Poor quality November 26, 2008 J. Knuth This is a nice looking pen, but the first impression fades as soon as you try to use it. Things have definitely changed at Cross. It's very obvious they've outsourced their manufacturing. I twisted the pen to expose the point and was surprised at how cheap and gritty it felt. This is compared to my old stainless steel Cross pen which feels smooth and solid. After taking the pen apart and comparing it to my old pen, I noticed that the threads inside my old pen are metal, and those in the new pen are plastic. I'm sure this is what's mostly responsible for the difference in feel. The pen skips badly when writing, and twice the point "popped" and disappeared back up into the pen. I was able to "fix" it by taking the refill from my old pen and replacing the cheap one in the new pen. It's adequate, and it looks nice, but it certainly isn't a "fine writing instrument".
Value pen June 30, 2008 Pablo Janiot (Argentina) This is a classic style Cross pen but has got a plus in design that is given by its colourful body.
Great for a gift! April 2, 2008 Sixkiller (Valencia, Venezuela) I gave this pen to my GF as a surprice and now its time for my gift ;) ... Oh! great quality and "cute" color, comes in a pretty cool case too!
Great Looks, bad writing. August 23, 2007 C. G. Navarro (Miami FL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This pen is absolutely gorgeous. Color is not 100% pink, more like a pearled pink/lilac. I carry this pen in my wallet and I use it to sign vouchers mostly. The ink is not great at all, usually starts off well but the last letters of my signature come out gray. My signature consists of 11 letters and it is a brand new pen. But hey, it's cheaper than a Mont blanc and looks good.
Good pen. Bad packaging. May 12, 2007 J. Johnson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Cross has a rep for high quality, and the "Tender Rose" pen is a beautiful piece of work. There is however, a problem with the box it comes in. It is a box made to hold a pen & pencil set.Give this as a gift and the receiver might ask where the pencil has gone. The "Tender Rose" deserves a box of its own.
