Excellent writer; cap is fragile April 4, 2010

I also have a pelikano junior; both write very well for inexpensive fountain pens. This one is of course longer (hence not jr.) and has a clip on the cap which I broke in short time. Also the cap doesn't stay securely on when writing. I am looking into replacement caps. I have two other fountain pens, a lamy which cost $30 and a namiki retractable one over $100 and my cheap pelikano's write better with less ink interruption. And with any fountain pen that uses ink cartridges you can save money by refilling them from bottles of ink with a syringe (can get messy though).

Tough little cute pen with a bouncy nib. The fine is a wider American fine. Takes long cartridges (one included) or a universal converter if you have it. The orange color is bright and happy and see-through for checking the ink supply. I have always wanted one of these and appreciate the nib choice.
Pelikan makes very expensive fancy pens and has been for about 100 years, but their low-ends are very good. My pen came with a skipping problem, which is unusual for a Pelikan, so I sent it back to this dealer, who promptly exchanged it for me, and the new one works beautifully.
