Solid, German-made mechanical pencilNovember 3, 2008 Tara T. I bought the German-made Lamy Scribble after trying two cheap (under $5) mechanical pencils. In one, the lead kept breaking (I have relatively heavy writing pressure) and the other fell apart after a few weeks. I did some research and found the Ramy Scribble among the top-rated in its price range.
This pencil is all metal; the lead advancement is smooth and precise. It has a heftiness to it, but is well-balanced and feels good in my hand. It has an attractive 'stubbiness' to it and reminds me of a torpedo with its black, gun metal finish.
But don't let its appearance fool you. This pencil is made for drawing. When I'm writing it feels like a sports car that's being held back and I've noticed my writing has more flourish.
When you tire of cheap, plastic mechanical pencils and ready to 'upgrade' you may find the Lamy Scribble a good choice.

I have bought several mechanical pencils and I just got this one thru Amazon.com.... Excellent service from the seller and it arriving in perfect shape.... AND... I-LOVE-IT! So comfortable! Not so light, not so heavy.... just perfect! Size & design are perfect! Highly recommended!!
